Mediation is a respectful, confidential process that helps people in conflict find practical solutions. Our experienced mediators provide a neutral space where participants  are supported to listen, share their perspectives, and work through issues together.

We provide a safe and inclusive space where you can feel supported without judgment.

Who is this for?

Mediation can support people facing everyday personal or family conflict. It may be right for you if you are:

  • A parent or carer struggling to connect with your teenager.
  • In conflict with siblings, parents, or extended family members.
  • Trying to make later-life decisions with or for an ageing family member.
  • Having issues with a flatmate, neighbour, or someone in your community.

What can I expect?

Our job is to help you feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire process.

When you first get in touch, one of our friendly client services officers will explain the mediation process, explain our fees and help you book your intake session, whether you prefer to meet at one of our locations or online.

Before your first session you’ll be asked to fill out registration and consent for service forms. This helps us understand your situation better and explains the counselling process and your rights around privacy and confidentiality.

Mediation is typically a short-term, voluntary process. You can expect:

  • An initial individual conversation with the mediator.
  • A safe, structured mediation  session (if appropriate).
  • A respectful environment where everyone has the chance to speak.
  • A focus on finding shared solutions that work for everyone involved.

Sessions are facilitated by our accredited  mediators, who remain neutral throughout the process.

How can we help?

We offer several types of mediation tailored to specific situations.

General Mediation

Mediation offers a constructive way to address conflict, reduce tension, and improve communication. Whether within families, shared living situations, or broader community groups, mediation provides a neutral, confidential space where all voices can be heard.

We work with individuals and groups navigating a wide range of interpersonal conflicts, including:

  • Family disagreements, such as tension between parents and adult children, conflict among adult siblings, or issues involving extended family members
  • Flatmate or housemate disputes, including communication breakdowns, unmet expectations, and household responsibilities
  • Community issues, such as disagreements within community groups or volunteer organisations

We help parties identify shared interests, explore options, and build practical agreements that support longer-term resolution and healthier relationships.

Parent–Adolescent Mediation

Parent-Adolescent Mediation is a structured, confidential process designed to help families navigate conflict and improve communication. With the support of a neutral mediator, parents and adolescents are guided in identifying issues, expressing concerns, and developing mutually agreeable solutions.

Families may find Parent-Adolescent mediation helpful for addressing challenges related to communication breakdowns, behavioral concerns, school issues, or household expectations. Mediation aims to foster understanding, reduce tension, and support healthier family dynamics.

Elder Mediation

Elder Mediation supports families in navigating decisions that arise later in life. This process provides a structured, confidential, and inclusive space where families can engage in discussions where everyone’s voice and autonomy are respected.

Elder Mediation can support conversations around:

  • Future living arrangements, including decisions about aged care, home support, or transitioning to assisted living
  • Property and financial matters, including inheritance concerns or the management of shared assets
  • Informal care agreements, where family members are providing support and seeking clarity around roles, expectations, and boundaries

The goal is not only to reach practical agreements, but to preserve and strengthen family relationships and the dignity and well-being of everyone involved.
