We help families build healthier relationships and find new ways to connect. Navigating a blended family, parenting together, or managing changes in family dynamics can be challenging. Our family programs are here to help you reconnect, communicate better, and work through difficult times. We’ll give you the skills to reduce conflict and improve understanding in your family relationships.

Who is this for?

Family counselling can help when parenting feels overwhelming, children are struggling, or relationships at home are strained. We support all family types, including blended families, LGBTQIA+ families, solo parents, siblings, and extended family members.

You might benefit if:

  • There’s frequent conflict or miscommunication within your family
  • You’re struggling to understand or support your child or teenager
  • Your family is working through separation, grief or a big life change
  • A family member may be struggling with mental health concerns
  • You want to better understand your child’s development

What can I expect?

Our job is to help you feel comfortable and supported.

When you first get in touch, one of our friendly client services officers will explain our fees and help you book your session, whether you prefer to meet at one of our locations or online.

Before your first session you’ll be asked to fill out registration and consent for service forms. This helps us understand your situation better and explains the counselling process and your rights around privacy and confidentiality.

During your first session (which lasts about 50 minutes), your counsellor will:

  • Discuss confidentiality and privacy with you.
  • Ask questions to understand what’s been happening in your life.
  • Explore any underlying triggers or factors that may be contributing to your situation.
  • Most importantly, talk about what you hope to get out of counselling.

Depending on your situation and circumstances, we may meet with you individually first to understand your individual needs and goals before bringing you together.

Your counsellor will discuss and make a plan for your next steps, whether that means weekly, fortnightly, or a different schedule that works for you and your family. At the end of each session, our team will help you book your next appointment and arrange payment.
